Recommendation for a really nice spa hotel within easy reach of London?

Dh and I are considering a night or two in a spa hotel (no kids - yeah for grandma!) after new year as our christmas present to ourselves. Anyone have any recommendations of a good one? We live in central london so would like to get the train to one.

Bestfriend and I went here - a couple of years ago (pre babies)they did 2 night stay deals - really lovely and lovely place to stay and eat.

So nice I took my dh there too. Now moved from London so too far for me to go but in Warwickshire and only a couple of hours on train - I think - cant remember this part

I would say the Royal Bath Spa Hotel or whatever its called - the one in the Circus.

Any of the Champneys ones are nice - look at the champneys website for details.

The Grove is nice with fab spa - but getting spa appointments is difficult even if you are a resident.

Eastwell Manor in Kent is lovely, with nice pool and beauty treatments.

Rowhill is supposed to be wonderful - it won the hotel spa award for 2005!

Forest Mere, train from Waterloo to Liphook (approx 1 hour) then short taxi ride to the health club. (5-10mins).

The best spa I have ever been to here in UK was Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa in Surrey.
I didn't stay in the hotel though just went as day guest to the spa. But the spa was just FANTASTIC! Best treatments I have ever had!!
Not cheap though!

Oh I agree. Ww went to Pennyhill Park last July for 2 days. Was about £750 for 1 night in a four-poster room including champagne breakfast plus another £100 for dinner in the wonderful restaurant. That included full access to the spa which is the best I've ever been to and a couples massage.

It was better than a week's holiday though. Felt so relaxed.

Another vote for Pennyhill Park here!

oh yes, had forgotten Pennyhill, ideal if you are in London, sister and friend went recently and said it was FANTASTIC, amazing facilities.
