Place to stop on way to Loire

Help needed! Driving to Loire in summer. Want to stop on way for lunch/visit place of interest to break up the journey (playground would be a winner) and give kids opportunity to burn off some energy. Need decent toilet facilities. Having flashbacks from terrible French service station toilets in the early 80s but maybe things have changed. Dds - 4yrs & 3yrs old.
PS Planning to go Paris route

Personally if going in to Normandy ports, try very hard not to stop around 3 hours journey. Run around ferry, wee etc at last minute and then blast down get to Amboise for lunch.

We're meant to be using the Dover/Calais crossing, so think we'll need a lunch break. I'll look again. Maybe need to think about crossing to Normandy...thanks
