I'm nrly 12 wks pg at the moment and we are planning to go to India in December to see my husband's father who has had a stroke and is very ill. I will be 20 weeks pregnant. I went to the nurse today but she wldnt immunise me. I have read on some websites tht some imms are considered okay to use in pregnancy but she wldnt do it at all, said she didnt want to risk it and advised me not to travel.
Has anyone else had travel imms while pregnant? What did they have? Any advice?

I was in the same position also going to India, I decided myself it wasn't worth the risk to have the immunisations, but I was very early in pregnancy. DH had the shots, I didn't, we were fine. It is something you have to weigh up yourself.

If I had been advised not to have immunisations whilst pregnant I wouldn't even consider having them, it isn't worth the risk. Would you travel without having them? What are the risks of you catching something there? I think you need to consider these things before you decide whether it is safe to go.
