Brittany Ferries vs. LD Lines......

We go to France a lot and always go from Portsmouth to Caen. We stared this when we bought our house in Normandy, we live near to Portsmouth and just carried on and got into the habit - the thing is, even with a discount Brittany Ferries is tres expensive. So, have any of you used LD Lines and how does it compare to Brittany Ferries. We have 4 dcs from 9 yrs to 7 weeks and always go overnight is the posh cabins if we can get one. We go overnight because frankly cannot cope with Dcs or indeed me and the woolyH being sick and the night crossings are nice and slow and not bouncing about listening to other people throw up!

It is just as possible for us to go from newhaven to dieppe or to le havre

Please let me me know your experiences and how the ride over compares to the route we take now (can you tell that sea travel makes me a bit nervous???)
