She could try Kayak re the flights but I would think it is unlikely that she will get a direct flight from Ireland into Las Vegas (she will have to transfer to another flight on arrival into the US if she uses Aer Lingus).

If she really does want a direct flight then she will need to travel to Heathrow and use either BA or Virgin to fly to Las Vegas.

Accommodation in Las Vegas varies enormously by cost but most people stay on the Strip or surrounding area; it is more expensive when conventions are in town and on the weekends.
She could have a look at www.tripadvisor.com for reviews of hotels.

We have been to Las Vegas 5 times the last time June this year. We book a package with Virgin and fly with them from Gatwick, so I don't know if there is a flight direct from Ireland maybe she would have to fly to Gatwick and change.

We always stay at the Imperial Palace Hotel is the one of the oldest hotels on the strip but we have always found it very adequate for our needs. If you read some of the reports on Trip Advisor you would never stay there but we have never encountered the problems they talk about on there.

The Imperial Palace is in the middle of the strip so is very convenient for getting to places.

We priced it all out doing flights and hotel accomadation seperately but found there was very little difference to what we were going to pay with a paclage. If you book online with Virgin they give you a good discount as well.

thanks for your replies, she is not a bit bothered about getting a direct flight. ideally she would liket to fly with continental to ny then on to las vegas but through the continental website its really expensive. ill pass your replies on to her and thanks again x

Depends what type of accn she wants really - i.e I booked cheap flights, but we spent a bit extra on accn as we wanted the full 'Vegas' experience - we stayed in the Wynn. I think we went through Expedia for accn, but worth trying a range of sites, like Octopus, Lastminute, etc.

I wouldn't fly with an American airline. I'd go with BA or Virgin. Virgin do packages so the cheapest option might be to do as others have said and fly to Gatwick first.

Continental's motto should be "Not quite the worst".

I would not use an American carrier either; also US internal flights can be very expensive. It may cost less if she took a direct flight from the UK to Las Vegas.
