Barcelona with the kids

Hi

We're off to Barcelona in mid-October with two football mad boys - 4 and 7.

Of course, we will be visiting to the Camp Nou and doing all the Gaudi stuff.

Any other kid friendly ideas?

Thanks

hello,

i didn't go with kids when I went a few years ago but... there is an open top bus tour around the city, with a few different routes i.e. one that goes around the beach area and one that goes towards the football stadium area..all covered by one ticket. You also get a book of vouchers that you can use in Macdonalds and for money off attractions.

Parc Guell can be a bit difficult to get to but is quite nice (although apart from the fantasy gateway and the coloured lizard not sure what else is there).

There is also a cable car / train journey upto Mont Juic which would keep them entertained as it has great view over the city. Obviously the fountain at night is a must.

I took my wife for her birthday in December about 4 years ago and these were all open but couldn't tell you prices etc..

Just don't go eating and drinking around the Ramblas unless you have spoken to your bank manager first about extending your overdraft limit...

have a nice time.

the zoo! I love Barcelona - been there a few times with the kids - you'll find loads to keep them entertained

We went to the zoo last month - it was fab, you can even hire wee golf buggies to drive around. There is a huge aquarium near the port although I haven't been. The light show is amazing - font du magic. Well worth a trip. I love barcelona

(1) The science museum is awesome -and if you have time you can book activities such as Toca Toca and your DSs will touch an anaconda (beurck), frogs, .... There is also a nice restaurant with children menu.
(2) Otherwise, I like the Egyptian Museum, in carrer Valencia in the middle between the two main Gaudi buidings in Passeig the Gracia.
(3) I find the Museo Maritim a little bit boring (especially the second half), but with your entrance ticket you can then enter on a big ancient boat at the harbor and my DS2 loves that.
(4) You can combine a visit a The chocolate Museum which is fun (you can eat your entrance ticket), with a visit to the Citadella Park. At 5 pm (weekdays), they open a small house near the playground and you have tons of balls and toys to play with.
(5) the Labyrinth Park is nice and fun, especially now that I know how to get out! A lot of laugh !
(6) I second the fountain show at Montjuic.
and the zoo, which has also a dolphin show, and a nice playground.

Barcelona is great for children!

we went in sept with 2 girls (1.5 and 3.5) so the focus is a little different:) we liked the zoo, and the fountain show, the cable car ride, the Mont Juic parc and the beach. if you go to the fountain show, there is a nice park with a playground quite close by. we really enjoyed the day trip to Montserrat. the acquarium is alright, maybe out expectations were a little high.
the old town around the ramblas is very nice to walk around the you can find some reasonable eats (of course after we've eaten we found some looks more authentic and cheaper eats than the ones more tailored to english speaking tourists).
there are lots to do and Have fun!
