Feeling really torn ab out this day out with the kids. Chester just too expensive but Twycross just doesn't look the same.
Found Dudley Zoo near Wolverhapmton. Its got a castle too.

Anyone been there?

Thaks Malory Towers.
Thats sorted that one then.
Wondering if we should just go camping this weekend now and go to Chester Zoo at end of half term when it costs less.

Would feel guilty going to a naff zoo

oh yes, Dudley zoo is well skanky. I used to get dragged round there every holiday as a kid. Twycross is better imho.

I don't like Bristol Zoo either. In fact, I'd go to drayton Manor meself

I don't like it. I think the animals look sad there too. I'm not a big fan of zoos really. I'd say if you are coming down here, go to Longleat, or if you are in the Midlands, go to West Mids Safari Park. The monkeys'll shit on your car, but at least they are happy. And you get to feed some of the animals

I'd second recommendation for West Mids Safari park. ITs near Kidderminster, about 1/2 hour drive from Dudley. Its a really good day out, lots of rides as well as the animals which mostly roam free.

And there aren't any monkeys anyomre, so your car is safe!

West Midlands Safari Park is really good and we found no monkeys to destroy the car so perfectly safe. Also what about the Nature Reserve on Bristol Road in Birmingham near Cannon Hill Park which is only £1.30 for an adult and child so cannot beat the price for younger kids.
