Going to Bristol this weekend for a child free break. Have hotel sorted, but fancy a pottering/shopping / lunching kind of weekend - tell me your best shopping areas/places for lunch WITHOUT kids and WITH DH.Thanks.

Harborside. There's the Arnolfini gallery, Watershed, and Bordeaux Quay restaurant although the bistro downstairs is great. There's also River Station, Mud Dock and Olive Shed.

Clifton Village is great for looking around and have heard The Albion pub is great. A walk around the Downs and Leigh Woods is fun, and if you get a map, you can do a circle and walk along the river. Smile

Ohh, I love St Nicks Market - just rediscovered it again the other week - will be going back down when the DC's are back in school to browse at my leisure.

The Cottage Inn on Baltic Wharf (also Hotwells)
is a fab little pub with really good (not fancy) food and a lovely outlook. You can hop on a ferry at the center and get off outside the pub.The ferry will take you past the SS Great Britain and The Matthew on the way.

Also second St Nicholas Market.
