Goa with a 5-month old baby?

My partner and I are looking at going to Goa for a 3 week holiday in November with our DD who will be 5 months then. We have both travelled in India lots and stayed for long periods in Goa, but as this was before having a baby, we never really paid attention to parents and babies or how they seemed to fare.

Now, I have been looking at advice on various Goa threads here, but all seem to concern travelling with slightly older children. Does anyone have experience of travelling either to Goa or indeed somewhere similar with a younger baby? I would particularly value advice and handy hints on: disposable nappies vs. re-usables, experiences of a/c vs. fan-cooled accommodation, all of a sudden not making enough milk for some reason (big worry, esp as DD will be big and hungry, just on the cusp of wanting to start solid foods) and general hygiene tips. If you have undertaken a similar trip with a young baby, what would be your most indispensable items for keeping baby cool, comfortable and safe?

Goa is currently considered to be a malarial area, which could be an issue with a 5 month old, especially if she's exclusively breastfed.

I nearly went with a 9 month old two years ago, although in the end we didn't get further than Mumbai. In Mumbai I just had DD in a sling as much as possible which seemed to help with the hygiene aspect (limited extent to which she could stick random things into her mouth, at least).
