Going to Zante, what should we bring??

DH and I have just booked up to go to Alykanas in Zante with DS and DD (both three) at the end of September. It's the first time we've been abroad with them and apart from the obvious (suncream, sunhats etc), what genius pieces of indispensible kit would you advise me to bring?

Also, if anyone's been to Alykanas Village in Zante, feel free to give me heads-up on what it's like!

I am also going there at the end of Sept with DH and DD (also 3). We've not been there before but I've read that mosquitos can be a problem so I'm going to get some natural repellant for DD - not keen in covering her with Deet. I think you can hire beach towels there and there are plenty of inflatables so we won't be taking those.

Hope the weather will be good. I really need some sunshine!

We've never been to Zante but have been to Kefalonia. Insect repellent is a good idea, and we found the UV swimwear for children indispensable to protect against the searing sun (we went in August!) - helps with the endless applications of sunscreen too if they are wearing the UV all-in-ones. Don't forget crocs/jelly shoes that they can wear in the sea.

Inflatables are cheap out there so don't waste the luggage space.

Old thread, I know, but thinking of booking this place for mid June this year, for two weeks. Anyone have any feedback? Thanks!

I personally would hold fire on Greek islands for the time being. If Greece leaves the euro they do not have enough money to pay public sector workers. This may well lead to disruptions to power supplies, water, transporting food etc. Not a pleasant atmosphere in Greece at the moment ...
