We are off next week for a week. We went when my DS was 8 months old but can't remember much! Can anyone recommend things for 4 & 6 year old boys to do?

Mine would be happy to go to the beach every day tbh. Weather was better in Ireland than UK last week! I have a feeling there may be holiday clubs that visitors as well as local children can attend - seem to remember reading about that somewhere.

If you want to do other things there are bound to be plenty of places inland. I used to enjoy Westport House as a child - don't know if they still have a zoo?

Take them on the Atlantic drive right round the island, not for the faint hearted but fabulous views and even an old wreck to see as you peer over the cliffs. Lovely beach at the end can't remember if it's called keem (pronounced kim) or keel. Go to both one has surfing and sailing so good to watch. Also take a drive to the mainland to the old mulranny hotel, there's a lovely walk from the hotel down to the beach which is heaps of fun at higher tide due to the endless pools great for spotting crabs and jelly fish.
You can also hire bikes at the hotel and cycle along the old railway line (a newish thing popular with tourists).
Last time I was there I went to irelands smallest pub which was on achill island, can't remember the name but your boys would probably like a lemonade (red??!!)or a cidona in there as it's v quaint.
Could also take a boat out to do some line fishing (we caught loads inc a squid).
Have fun it's a lovely place.
