Hi,

We're thinking of the Canary Islands in early October. Anyone been that time of year and can tell me what the weather might be like?

Secondly any hotel/villa/apt recommendations? we've got a 2 year old so I guess toddler friendly is what I'm after?!

Ideally would like a really a nice apartment in a hotel!!

Is that possible....

avoid porto rico in gran canaria, it has lots of steps as the centre is a sort of small valley and the noise also echos up to the top

We've just got back from Fuerteventura, stayed in Corralejo in the North at Suite Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort. Been a few times now, really like it, can be self catering or all-inc.

Let me know if you want any more info, will be happy to help!

Fuerteventura - Las Mirasmas Aparthotel in Correlajo. Fantastic place. You can go sc or various boarding options. Huge rooms, lovely food.

We've just returned from the Gloria Palace Royal hotel in Gran Canaria. It's stunning, wide variety of food and a lovely little kids pool which was just perfect for our 2 yr old. The staff love children and if yours are slightly older the kids club looked fab! The rooms are spacious too.

Would agree with County about Puerto Rico- it was tacky and all of the apartments appeared to be on a hill (although we didn't stay around long enough to investigate!!) But this htel is in the next little bay, Amadores and has a v.safe beach, with a boardwalk of little restaurants.

Hope this helps!

We went to Tenerife last Nov and it was boiling! Hotel Anthelia, top end, would rec the hotels in this area including the Bhania. However, even though child friendly they dont offer early sittings and the evenings were a bit of a nightmare with finding food, eating out was generally thumbs down. I can understand you looking for an apartment for these reasons as going out was a no no for us with a 4 yr old and 7 month. Both good sleepers and on the turn by 7pm so the stress of taking them out wasnt worth it. We opted for a nanny but very expensive but it allowed us to go out.

Watch out there are sme very nasty areas in tenerife, some what I call run down areas.

Not cheap either as Euro. The supermarkets werent cheap so it wasnt a value holiday.
