I grew up in Molesey, not far away at all. And now I'm half an hour on the bus away. I have a little girl who is nearly one. Which isn't much help in terms of being friends with your dd, I guess, helping her feel at home in the area. I could try to find out if there are any groups around there, I guess. Have you been to the library?

Oneday · 25/08/2005 08:28

Didn't even read thread title properly! Sorry. Going out recommendations locally. Have you been to Hampton Court Palace? It's such a treat. Just down the road from you. I could tell you bus numbers if you don't drive - I still can't drive and must learn soon, it's ridiculous - I'm sure a 5 year old would love it. There's a maze...

Bushy Park is lovely. I meant that perhaps the library might advertise groups? Sorry, not very with it today and certainly not at my most articulate. Sorry. Are you working?

Sorry for delay. Been away from the computer for a few days.
Sports massage, how great! I'm sure there'll be something around Kingston.
No, I don't work at the moment. Didn't get a career together before having DD - had a few awol years. Started a law degree and didn't finish it, started training to be a psychotherapist, then decided it wasn't the right time...might go back to it one day, we'll see.
Think I'll apply to a job at Kingston Council, admin, 18 hours a week. Need to work 16+ to get help with childcare costs from government. And DD is a sociable little thing who I think would really benefit from being around other children. In fact I should do my application form today. Been meaing to do it, but I hate applying for jobs. I was destined for a really good career, and for various reasons it hasn't happened yet. It will one day, I hope.

How are you doing?
Have you had a good weekend?

tayamummy · 29/08/2005 15:35

Glad you had a good weekend. Yes, we were fine. DD's Dad came round and kind of broke down having realised how awful he was to me, and that he needs to seek help. It was quite weird. Went out for a drink with friends and their son and their friends and kids. It was good thanks.
