I bought this for DC as pre-uni reading and then swiped it myself. It covers 1688 to Brexit. It’s for a popular audience rather than an academic text and is very readable.

To cover the whole period you want, I suspect you’ll need two or more titles. Googling for undergraduate reading lists can be a good starting point.

An utterly Impartial History of Britain and An utterly Exasperated History of Britain by John o Farrell are both very good if you want a humorous take on history and politics.
