Just finished this after being persuaded into giving PG a try by Buffy. Much preferred it to the Red and White Queen ones...

It was really interesting to learn more about the life of the Countess of Salisbury (daughter of George, Duke of Clarence) as she isn't someone who has come up before in other things I've read about the period.

Am about 3/4 of the way through and really enjoying it at the minute. Phillipa Gregory really has no love for Henry VII

I thought The Red Queen pretty antagonistic!

I wonder if she'll ever write a book about Margaret of Anjou- her portrayal was pretty scathing in the White queen and the Kingmakers Daughter.

Back to the Kings Curse I'm finding Margaret rather haughty and hard to warm to

I quite liked it BECAUSE of the haughtiness.. really disliked her coldness then it started to make it a bit more real and emphasise the real horror of the whole situation.

You mean as a way to survive her own lack of control? Control whatever she could like the curtseying hierarchies?
