Books which detail the early settlers in America.

I am back at university next week and we are studying The British Empire. I have read a lot about India (most of the stuff on our reading list) but my interest has been sparked to the early settlers, the Mayflower, Roanoke etc.

Any recommendations would be great.

Me too... EMpire I mean. Very very excited. I did America last year. I loved Francis Jennings, although he hates the settlers. Brilliant book though. I will dig out my reading list.
