In june i have to pick my modules at college and i want to pick nursing so that i have a head start for when i go to uni and start a midwifery course.

However, recently i have been thinking about my choice of career and whether it can actually be done. My situation is this:

I have two children at full time school and nursery. They will be 4 and 6 (ish) when i start at university. I have no partner and there is no support network for the kids it is literally just me and them and will be so for the foreseeable future and beyond.

So from what i understand at uni the training may well involve shift work, nights and weekends and i am at a loss as to how i will be able to do it.

So anybody's stories and points of view would be greatly appreciated!
