Hi all, I'm just wandering what anatomy and physiology books you are being 'advised' to read/buy - I am 12 years qualified and although i have a background in ITU, I have been out of the NHS for nearly 5 years now and would like to get the grey cells working again! TIA

I hope these are some help, they the recommended reading from my handbook under Social and Life Sciences.

Beckett C (2002) Human Growth and Development

Colbert B, Akney J, Lee K, Steggail M and Dingle M (2009) Anatomy and physiology for nursing and health professionals

Marieb E (2008) Essential Human Anatomy and Physiology 8th edn

Montague S, Watson R and Herbert R (2005) Physiology for nursing practice

Waugh A (2006) Ross and Wilson anatomy and physiology in health and illness

There's also a digital resource recommended to us which is Anatomy.tv tinyurl.com/28dn7j

Enjoy

I am biologist not nurse but I like the marieb A&P too. The Tortora and Derrickson book is good too

FlamingoBingo · 26/01/2010 22:04

We were told to have Tortora when I trained 7 years ago.

dukester · 26/01/2010 22:52

Ross and Wilson is popular.

Martini's a bit more user friendly then Tortora, it has the same pictures in it though.
