Can someone help me re student loans for mature students?

Just trying to work out if I would be eligible for a student loan.

Do you have to be taking your first degree? I did my first degree before student loans were introduced, so I have never taken one before. I am not expecting to get any fee funding, just wondering about maintenance really.

Are they means tested? Would DH's income be taken into account?

I think you can have a loan if you haven't had one before. Actually you might even be able to have one even if you did take one out before. DD1 is doing a PGCE and she has been able to take out another student loan. I think the age limit for loans is around 55.
