Yoga teachers? Can you explain how you learnt?

Im keen to start attending yoga classes soon and ideally (and really looking far ahead I know) Id like to 'qualify'. Ive read about various retreats etc but its a bit difficult to understand whats appropriate for what I want, if that makes sense. I think I need to undertake a couple of years of attending classes before I could train as such but I like to have a think and have an idea of what could lie ahead. Id like to know how the grading works, etc.

Any advice?

Hi dillinger,

I am a yoga teacher and trained with a course recognised by Yoga Alliance. I went to Byron Bay in Australia to do this as wanted to do an intense course without any distractions. I have also done further training in America and I try to do lots of workshops as there is so much to learn.

Most reputable courses will require at least 2 years experience and will ask for a reference from a teacher.

You could do a foundation course first with the British Wheel (anyone can do this). It is once a month and will help you decide if you want to take it further and do a teacher training course.

I am currently doing BWY pregnancy yoga teacher training.
