My dc has an offer to go here (English/ film) - I have never heard of it or met anyone who went there. Is it a good place to spend 3 years?

It's brilliant Has a very good reputation for English.

Its near Mile End in East London, so rents are more reasonable than other parts of London.

I went there over 10 years ago, but if anything it's reputation has grown since then.

It's not too big, so you get to know other students well. Its part of University of London, so you have access to all sorts of extra studying/nightlife opportunities

I loved my time there doing a English degree, thought the teaching was excellent.

I did my English BA there...excellent course and brilliant lecturers. Good location, easy to get to...I second what fondant said. Plus there was a real mix of ages on my course, quite a few students who were in thier 20s and 30s which added to the course and the social life!

My brother went there 25 years ago and loved it.
