Opinions wanted on some OU courses - and has anyone started at level 3?

Hi all - has anyone studied the following courses:

Living in a Globalised World

Understanding Systems

Any opinions on these two?

Also, I already have points at level 1, but none yet at level 2. There are some level 3 courses I'm interested in which I may decide to do first. Is this a really big leap and has anyone here done it??

Thanks!

The level 3 OU courses are usually a very big leap from level 1, and many students find them very challenging even if they've come straight from the relevant level 2 course. Your best bet would be to phone student services and speak to an advisor about it, they'll be able to give more specific advice.

I've just gone straight into a level 2, following on from my (conventionally studied) Bachelors degree and am finding it hard but that might be more adapting to the new way of working rather than the actual content of the course. Try doing a 30 pointer at level 2 just to make sure you can do it before going onto level 3.

I reckon you could go straight in at level 3 if you're confident about your essay writing skills, but the level 2 courses do provide an excellent foundation from which the level 3s follow.

I want to do Understanding Systems too & then Managing Complexity but I have started with a level 1

I just finished my second NVQ3 & I am finding the level 1 tricky not because I can't do it but because I don't know what level is required

The level 3s I did really assumed that you had studied particular courses at level 2, so you would need to watch out for that.
