Hi, does anyone know what the lowest grades accepted in clearing were this year for History at York? Many thanks

ABB was advertised - in the v long clearing thread

DD was accepted with ABC. She has a good personal statement which I think probably helped.

If they’ve got their grades already then apply now.

My dd had an offer for ABB (A in history) as her first choice, she got BBB and didn’t get in through clearing.

Why wait for clearing? Better to apply before the January deadline.

I am also confused. It's the main application window at the moment, why would you not apply now?

She has a place at Lancaster for next year but would prefer to go to York so just trying to understand if she has any chance of getting in before we reject the Lancaster offer. Thanks

sounds like she wouldn’t get in with her grades so will stick with Lancaster.
can I ask where your DD with 3 x B’s went instead of York? Thanks

She went to Newcastle. She absolutely loves it, the course. And the place. Newcastle was her insurance and she really wanted to go to York but loved Newcastle. She got really into different things that she had never been into before, like Asian history. They did strike though, the lecturers so I’m not sure what’s happening with that now.

There's a section on the UCAS website where you can see most common grades/ range of grades accepted in previous years and enter your own grades to see possibility of being accepted in previous years. However, I know when this tool was launched a couple of years ago there were lots of posts on here urging caution as things can change significantly from year to year, and not to take it as gospel.

Thank you all. I think she’ll keep her firm offer for Lancaster so she knows she has a place then call as soon as clearing opens 27 and see what they say.
