Was going to say this. I was in Ethel Williams, which was knocked down two years after we left. Happy days. 😵‍💫🫣🤣

Yeah was going to say it was incredibly grim in the 2000s. I'm quite aghast it's still standing! Richardson Road flats, which were considerably more pleasant (but still dated), we were demolished maybe a decade ago.

Castle Leases was demolished last year. They are replacing it with a "Student Village"
It might be right beside the new stadium if NUFC ever decide what they are doing.

@gingercat02 DD lived in Whitley Bay when she stayed in Newcastle after graduating. She loved it there, and I loved visiting her.

Currently unknown! Lots of rambling about extending SJP or building new on the Town Moor. They can't extend into Strawberry Place as its an ambulance route to the RVI.

DD will be in Park View but reserved it ages ago when she firmed. Are those looking for accommodation now either insurance or clearing? Hope everyone gets something suitable, DD wanted Park View as it is close to the medical school.

Yes, Accom portal re-opened on Tuesday morning for Insurance and Clearing (and suppose anyone else who hadn't applied for it at that point).

I was in Ethel Williams aswell, Four Lane Ends! I mentioned it on my daughter's open day and the student who was taking us on a tour had no idea what I was on about 😂 I think she thought I was making it up.

Crikey, Castle Leazes was considered grim when I was at Newcastle in the early 80s. It was allegedly based on the design of a Swedish open prison.
