Obviously other things matter when choosing a university - but could you please recommend a uni with an exceptionally strong dungeons and dragons society/club?

CURTS (Cambridge University Roleplaying and Tabletop Society) has regular D&D campaigns happening both online and in person.

I went to Sheffield back in the day and NODDSOC (Not Only Dungeons and Dragons Soc) was extremely active. I lived for 3 years happily ensconced in its wierd embrace, fashioning 10meter high dragons out of cardboard for rag floats and having full days of LRP on 'All on a summers weekend'.
I am still friends with most of those guys.
It seems it is still thriving.
Sheffield is also an amazing and affordable city

Any university with a large computer school or big on any sciences is very likely to have a roleplaying society. DC is in Belfast and her uni has 3 different ones!

Durham has a University wide one and most colleges have their own.

Love this thread, DD2 is an avid D&D player and it's one of her open day questions 😁

St Andrews has one called DICE, my son ended up running it for a couple of years. It was the mainstay of his social life!

Yes, we have tried to narrow down the ‘absolute must haves’ for a University and a well established D&D society is number 1! 😂

Nottingham have Warhammer World right there, and it’s v D&D-adjacent. Worth a look!

I actually requested an out of catchment high school place ( Scotland so usually no choice, you just go to your catchment school) for my DSs to a school that had a Warhammer club!
unfortunately by the time DS2 got there it had folded but that led to him getting a teacher to help him start it up again which was a good experience for him. Clubs are important!

Warwick has one
