How long to confirm for Bristol?

Can I ask, with a firm offer for Bristol maths, how long does one have before deciding to make it definite?

Congrats. I don't think you need to confirm anything to them, unless you want to decline the place. Not sure what the deadline is for that, but read the offer terms...

It's definite as soon as it's confirmed by Bristol in UCAS. Your DC would need to reject their place or ask for a referral to free up the space for someone else if they no longer want to go there.

Your DC has already accepted the offer made by Bristol. Today Bristol would have confirmed the place as your DC has met the conditions.

Many thanks, very helpful.

You do need to confirm.

You do need to confirm.

We're not sure you do. Not if it's the original firm choice on your UCAS form.

How do you think you need to 'confirm', then?

My son has two emails from Bristol, both confirming his place and giving him some dates - the second email says he'll need to register from the 20th August.

You need to register?

I also read somewhere about needing to send confirmation of results. However, presumably the results go directly through UCAS?

Start to build up a file of paperwork for your DC including GCSE certificates, A level results confirmation, birth certificate, passport or driving licence, student loan confirmation, accommodation information etc. It makes registering for the uni, accommodation, GP, new bank account etc so much easier for them if everything is in one place. Don't under estimate the time it will take to get through the uni IT registration & set up process either.
