ESAT and TMUA booking now open for October

just a reminder for those whose young people are planning to do ESAT or TMUA or TARA in the mid-October sitting that booking is now open:

Anyone else having problems booking the TARA? Nowhere in London available when we tried yesterday evening….

Not TARA, but we couldn’t find an ESAT slot to book when we tried last night just after 10pm. Do they really, book up so fast?! I was wondering if some schools and colleges book it on behalf of their students?

We wanted a particular timeslot and city so I was waiting to pounce at 3pm (and got it sorted fine) but it seems very bad if they have filled up. Maybe more will be released?

There may be more pressure on ESAT as Oxford have gone over to asking for that too rather than their own PAT test

They have obviously badly misjudged it. I agree they will need to add some more slots. We were looking at 7 yesterday evening so only a few hours after they opened.

Is there something wrong with the website? We looked this morning and not a single slot anywhere in London showing for TMUA for the whole week.

Sorry, following on from my last post that was meant to reassure that the website is working, not to sound smug!

DS was on at 3pm yesterday and even then at the three closest test centres there was only a single ESAT slot available at the furthest one. I’d assumed if he was on as they released he’d have his choice of day and date at the test centre he would have preferred to go to.

Has anyone tried to book a January ESAT yet? We are in Paris, and they are offering no slots yet for any test in January - the test centres' calendars don't even extend beyond October. Is this the same for the test centres in the UK?

When I rang the central Paris test centre about this a couple of weeks ago, I was told they would be opening up their calendars on the 1st of September, but that date has come and gone - perhaps they didn't know what they were talking about and in fact the calendars don't open for reservations until the month prior?

I have sent a question via the Pearson Vue feedback form, but am not expecting a reply because they are not exactly the slickest outfit, and will usually say I need to ring the test centres, which I have already done to little avail.

I guess I am just wondering whether I should be checking back on the website daily, which would be a bore.

OK I think I may have found my answer. It seems like January reservations are open from 26th October.
