Teen preparing for Uni year abroad in 2027.

Hello,
Our son is at UCL and is preparing to go abroad for a year as he's studying a language as well as history. Please can anyone share their experience of what it's like and how it works financially.Any tips/ advice would be great as we're a little unsure about it all. Thanks 😊

@indigoemerald Doubt the government will pay for both. Turing was means tested and a shit show.

Our son will be going somewhere in Europe and the year abroad is part of the course. Hopefully we'll get more information by the Autumn. I'm going to start looking up what info I can now😊

So it sounds like good news for people who want to study in Europe, bad news for people who want to study elsewhere, unless Erasmus covers other countries too, which was what I was asking.

@worcesterpearit’s a European thing so I don’t think it covers anywhere outside of the EU (as far as I am aware) - it’s really helpful for mfl students doing European languages as the year abroad is mandatory and by all accounts has been really complicated since Brexit - hopefully this will make it easier (& financially a little more accessible potentially)
