How do you see a breakdown of your student loan whilst you are still at university? SFE just gives a total. I presumed you would be able to see the amount borrowed per year and then the interest so you could check it was correct but it seems you cant get a statement until the year after you have repaid or am I misunderstanding?

To the best of my knowledge, you can't get that information until you enter the repayment system the April after you finish (or, more likely, at the end of the first year of your repayment period).

I think it's probably because all your information is held by Student Finance England until you finish and then it's transferred to the Students Loan Company for repayment.

I feel sure I would have had students asking about it if letters were sent while they were still studying.

Thank you, I will message them as it doesnt seem right you cant check the information they are holding is correct when it is something as important as a loan of potentially £70k
