“UCAS is processing your application”

DD applied to UCAS for a STEM subject. The entry went in before the early entry deadline ie beginning of October. Some of her friends are beginning to get offers so I asked her whether she’d heard anything.

Her UCAS hub states the following:
“UCAS is processing your application. Once this is complete it will be sent to the universities and colleges you applied to for their consideration.”

When I’ve googled, it says that UCAS takes 48 hours to process applications, not four weeks! What’s going on? Should I get her to contact them?

Thanks again all. DD has phoned UCAS who explained that there’s a glitch with the website (!!) and her application has been received on time and is live. Separately, she’s found an email from one of the unis in her spam folder. The UCAS adviser suggested she contact the unis individually to check they’ve received her application.

That’s very useful info re Durham @Dery. It is indeed one of her choices.

Some of this seems unnecessarily stressful!

That’s good news, OP!

And glad the Durham intel was useful. There was a lot to think of but Durham was one of very few places my DD could achieve her subject combo and offered it on the best terms, and she is really enjoying it, so the effort felt worth it.

Fingers crossed for your DD and Oxbridge!

It turns out that all the unis had emailed DD but the emails were in her “updates” folder or some such. I’ve no idea why gmail does this (nor why DD didn’t think to check). It’s very lucky she found them because there was a deadline of today for submitting some paperwork! Anyway panic over. Phew.

Oh, thank goodness! Really pleased it all worked out.

Phew @Ucastress . That was a close call! Glad she saw the deadline in time.

Newlittlerescue · 10/11/2025 16:40

Glad she saw it in time! Are her emails from UCAS also going to a junk folder? According the email my DS has just received (school submitted his form this afternoon) you receive an email from [email protected] every time an update is made to your application, including decisions, so she should add that address to her safe list.

Phew! I'm so glad everything had gone through correctly, and well timed on not missing the paperwork deadline too.
Best of luck for her decisions!

First offer has come through, phew, and the "UCAS is processing your application" message has finally been updated. Thanks again for everyone's support and suggestions.
