We are taking DS down to Falmouth next Thursday.
He is going to do games development, or computing for games, or animation. As he has both maths and art, theyve given him a bit of a free rein to choose.
He is in halls not too far away, and his good friend is in the same halls, and good friend's girlfriend on the main town campus.. He took an extra year to do an art foundation, and just to get a little older before heading off.
He had his DSA assesment last week, so Im hoping we might get on top of that before he goes, and Im trying to work out what we need to take with us.
DD and I will stay in the area until Wednesday, just because its a long drive, and also I want to make sure he has enrolled and given permission for them to talk to me just in case, and to touch base with the support team.
Im excited for him, but I imagine I may be crying all the 8 hours driving home

Local, not a student. Lovely places for you to go during your stay:

Poldhu Cove (the drive down to the beach via Cury is stunning, with the best cafe on the beach)
The train trip from St Erth to St Ives along Carbis Bay
Truro to get your DC all the bits and bobs from Dunelm you forgot (Dunelm is on the road out of Truro heading to St Austell opposite Waitrose)

Hope it all goes well

My DD is just finishing her masters at York. Completely understand!

Watch out for a place called Strawberry Fields on the A30 just before you cross the Tamar into Cornwall (so about 90 mins from Falmouth). Excellent all day breakfast and enormous buns. You will need to energy to unpack the car later!
