Cost of private student accommodation in Edinburgh

DD will start uni at Edinburgh Napier next month. We know how much halls Iwill be in the first year (£200 per week for 39 weeks). But I’m curious about costs once she’s into 2nd year and onwards, when she will presumably be in private rented accommodation. How much can we expect to pay? Obviously. I want her to be in a safe area (but I don’t know Edinburgh so not sure which areas are best). Also, is ehe likely to be tied into a 52 week contract?

My DD paid £475pm + bills last year (4th floor Royal Mile/Cowgate ) but I think that's on the very low side. BF was paying £600pm + bills near Cameron Toll. Colleague's son £900pm + bills in Marchmont.

Most hang on to their house shares over holidays (and work or sublet) especially if decent price but you only need to give 28 days notice but would have the palaver of finding something again in September.

DD has found all central areas in Edi very safe (but she's used to a livier city)

DD is just going into her 2nd year and is paying about £700pm + bills in Marchmont, which is a very popular area with students. Scotland does not have fixed term contracts, but in practice most people pay rent over the summer rather than risk not having accommodation sorted for September.
