Student Finance/Loan (England) when University is confirmed

Does anyone know if/what the student needs to do when they have their university place confirmed?

Do they need to do anything if they have got a place at their firm choice that they put on the Student Loan application, ie confirm their place?

And if they have anything other than their firm place as stated when the applied for a student loan, what do they need to do then?

Thanks!

No. No action needed as long as SF has bank details. Maintenance loan will be paid once attendance by the university is confirmed. Anyone going to a university other than the one they have confirmed with SF needs just to ensure SF has the correct university, otherwise the student isn’t on the SF list gives to the university. The university doesn’t give a list of its students to SF, SF instead gives its list of students to the university who have indicated they will be studying there.

No action, they just have to enrol at their unversity and once that is confirmed the loan will be paid.

. . . as long as the student has confirmed the correct university with SF (bearing in mind some students will now be at their insurance and some will have gone through clearing). If the student still has their firm listed with SF, they’ll just sit on their system and remain unconfirmed. Student needs to be proactive here.

Thanks both! Very helpful. I got him to log in and check and it all looked fine, just waiting for enrollment!
