Think I’m at the point now on just want to know what’s happening, feeling sick nervous and hopeful all at once

dc seems to be handling it ok, been pretty busy and distracted this summer so that’s helped

good luck to all your dc and you tomorrow, not long to go now

Handling it way better than me, although I’m outwardly calm I am so anxious for them to do as well as they can.

KitKatChunkyCat · 13/08/2025 09:57

Yes same I’m putting on a calm front too.
The day is almost here

Very nervous here but glad we know exactly what time our dc will get their results. I remember having to wait for the postman to deliver the envelope containing mine. He walked VERY slowly up the road!

Very nervous.
DD keeps having nightmares that she doesn't get the grades for her STEM subject and is put on a drama course instead!

I wonder if the unis are also stressing right now too, thinking hope we get enough student that we can be viable!

The universities already have their grades, they have since Friday so will be more aware of their numbers by now. That's why clearing updates will happen tonight and early tomorrow morning. The only thing is firms rejecting students. Then they have to altert UCAS and then the grades need to be sent to the insurance, but they will have gotten these in the last 3 days.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 13/08/2025 11:29

It's weird to think that so many students have their sliding doors moment tomorrow but the universities already have the results.

I missed out on my first choice almost thirty years ago by one solitary grade.
So I have my fingers crossed that ds isn't dealt a similar blow because he has his heart fixed on this particular course at this particular university - with a ridiculously high pass requirement.

I think I'll just stick with ostrich mode for now.

DipsyDee · 13/08/2025 14:07

Nervous like the rest of you all

EssentiallyDecluttering · 13/08/2025 14:09

Ok so far, but I've got so much else going on at the moment that I haven't really had time to dwell on it. Nothing we can do so no point worrying really.

Charlotte120221 · 13/08/2025 14:11

The unis already know and have already made decisions on whether to admit kids who just missed their grades.

Twistedfirestarters · 13/08/2025 14:13

Nervously optimistic. He's said he doesn't want me to go with him to get his results so I just hope the little sod doesn't zoom off with his friends and forget to text me! Good luck to everyone.

R50 · 13/08/2025 20:03

Good luck to all the lovely young people.

I’m feeling queasy myself, DD’s offer is doable but she has her heart absolutely set on it and the uni is notorious for dinging people who miss by one mark. She has an even more doable insurance offer but she will take that as complete failure if she needs it. DS missed both his firm and insurance offers 2 years ago but his firm still took him - I don’t think we would be as lucky this time. DD is full of drama saying she wants to die (apologies if that’s triggering - I keep telling her it isn’t funny and she’s going to be fine regardless).

I just want this to be over. She will be getting her results online instead of going to school as she boarded and we live far away from the school. While I know she wishes she was with her friends, if she’s disappointed she won’t have to be around ecstatic screaming girls, so that could be a blessing.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow! Don’t they deserve some luck?!
