Paying university fees with a credit card

Anyone done this?

DD is going to be living at home for her final year so won't be taking out the maintenance loan.

I'm thinking of paying the tuition fee with a 0% credit card then repaying it over the interest free period of 3 years. Can this be done? Is it a good idea?

I'll provide food and petrol because, well, she's my daughter.

@PrunellaModularis that works for me, too, actually. I get as cross with people on here saying, But if you pay your student DC's accommodation and let them keep the whole of their minimum loan to live on, that could amount to more than the maximum loan, and that's a terrible thing as I do with people using the concept of the parent paying fees etc (and not 'allowing' their DC to take out the loan, not that they can actually prevent this, should the student work this out) as a means of control - which sadly does happen in some families, but obviously isn't what you're trying to do here.
