Henley vs Cranfield senior Leadership apprenticeship (+MBA?)

Not sure if this is the right board, but I am looking into Cranfield and Henley s senior leadership apprenticeship (possibly with and MBA). Has anyone done either of them and can recommend/provide feedback? Also around whether the MBA addition is worth it.

I am finding it hard to make a choice and I know the deadline is close. Other programme recommendations also welcomed.

Are you self funding? I can't comment on that particular programme but I would think very carefully about what you would want to get out of the programme before signing up to anything. I did an MBA from a very well respected business school, fully funded by a previous employer. I really enjoyed it and I'm glad that I did it, but I don't think it was good value for money if I'm honest.

The apprenticeship would be funded by my organisation. If I decide to do the top up to MBA it would be up to £14k but then work might be able to cover up to £6k...so much much less than an MBA would be funded by me. If I don't do the top up I can end up with a PGDIp,.

I dropped out of the Henley apprenticeship having originally hoped to progress to their MBA. It’s a couple of years ago, we were guinea pigs and it’s possible things have improved so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Pros: The academic content was good and I enjoyed the assignments which are called work based projects.

Cons: They were trying to adapt their normal syllabus and squeeze it into the structure of an apprenticeship. They were making it up as they went along which generated lots of pointless additional work and admin which is annoying when you are studying alongside work and have limits on your time. In my year they made mistakes which affected their ability to draw down funding but they didn’t seem to own their mistakes. It might be worth asking both institutions about drop out rates as that might give you an indication of how effective the programme is - a lot of my intake at Henley dropped out.

I don’t know about Cranfield, but I had a friend who did the L7 apprenticeship qualification at the same time as me at a different institution and they did not have to do 1/4 as much admin because it was delivered through a better organised platform. To be balanced I think they did some topics in less depth as well so I might have enjoyed the substance less.

Take @Doraymefarsolateado that is very helpful. Will definitely ask about drop out rates.

Hi also looking at this and a myriad of other providers (Exeter, Kent, Keele). What did you find out and go with?

I have gone with Henley @AnotherSurreyMum21 .. please note many are closing - Henley's last cohort I think are soon closing applications, so you might need to make a decision sooner rather than later.
