Is anyone familiar with the HE courses offered through BAJ? DD is especially interested in the BA in Jewellery Production and Design.
She is an aspiring designer who primarily works in metal, ceramics and glass. She recently connected with a jewellery designer who has very kindly offered mentoring and work experience. This designer is a graduate of BAJ and suggested that it might be a good choice for DD.
She is very keen on the facilities available for BAJ students and was very excited to see the examples of student work, as she feels the featured work is in line with the sort of designs she likes to create. The industry links the BAJ offer are also very appealing.
However, she's a bit unsure of what life outside the classroom/studio looks like in such a specialist situation. Her mentor trained as a mature student while living in her own flat, so a very different experience than what DD can expect. Does anyone here, or their DC, have experience of this program as a young person?
She is already booked in for the end of year show and upcoming open day.
