What was YOUR dissertation on? Did you enjoy doing it? Did it make any significant impact in the field?

Religious imagery in the music of Benjamin Britten. I seem to remember writing it over the 48 hours before the deadline, like an idiot. I did pass it though! 💪

BSc: The Swash Zone transducer
I designed an instrument to measure the impact of waves on the beach and cliffs at Ogmore in S Wales.

MSc: i looked at the impact of sand excavation for industrial aggregate purposes on longshore drift patterns, dune regeneration and inland tidal flooding at Druridge Bay, Northumberland.

PhD: I correlated wind speed in the N Sea to wave energy to coastal cliff recession rates in different geologies.
