Dependents on student finance household income

I was chatting with a friend today and although this isn't relevant this year, it will be next year as my son will be applying to university to start Sep 2026.

On the form for parents household income, section 6 asks about dependents. My son has 2 younger siblings. One who will be in college next year to study for a levels and one who will be in secondary school. The child in secondary school will be included in q1 of section 6 but it asks about his unearned income. He does receive DLA. Would I need to write that on the form? How is a child's DLA relevant to their siblings student finance application?

And then my child who will be in college will be in q2 of section 6 but do I tick to say I'm not supporting her application because she's not applying for anything as she's doing a levels?

Have attached a photo of the form. It's probably not as confusing as my mind is making it! I know I don't even need to think about it yet but it completely baffled me when I saw it earlier and know it will annoy me not knowing

DLA isn't counted.

You don't have to mention anything about not supporting a uni application for your teen in college.

So I have to tick yes or no to whether I support college child's application for student finance. Assuming I'd tick no but then the year after when she applies for uni, I'd tick yes for her and also for her older brother's application for his 2nd year finance? It's not worded very well

That's correct!
