Liverpool Uni First Year Halls..

DS’s insurance choice is Liverpool and he has to apply for accommodation.
Does anyone have any recommendations, information on this?
He prefers self-catering.
He’ll be studying Civil Engineering.

My oldest went to Greenbank. Pros were its big and sociable and near a nice park.

Cons were its a bus-ride in everyday. They qualify for a cheap bus pass though which was v useful.

Private halls in the city centre work out cheaper than Green bank It depends what they want.

Crown place is booked out now. So his options are Melville with shared bathroom, greenbank or vine court. He’ll have a fairly full timetable so he might not want to add the greenbank commute, although they’re lovely halls.

vine court would be roughly the same distance away from his building as St Luke’s view, cedar house and Cambridge court, all private and cheaper than uni owned.

I’d avoid the ones around London road.

Melville grove is ok, I lived there for a year. Rooms are not a bad size and it’s very convenient for all the uni buildings and city centre

My daughter spent her first year in Philharmonic which was lovely but it is really expensive now compared to 2019 when she was there

Second Philharmonic, but it isn't cheap.

DD has loved Greenbank. Gym etc. Close to Smithdown Road where many students live in 2nd year anyway. Rooms very good. Yes it’s a bus ride away but hasn’t been a problem.
