DD still waiting to hear from Warwick and LSE. Is it normal they might still offer this late? Anyone else still waiting on these 2?

Going back 5 years, but Warwick offered DS on the very last day they could in May, and came in with an incredibly low offer, so he was able to firm his favourite and have Warwick as a no-brainer insurance.

LSE always seems to be late. Friend's DC finally got an offer at the start of May last year and as they were an Oxbridge candidate, LSE had had the form since the Oxbridge deadline.

My DC still waiting on LSE.

Still waiting on LSE here but heard from Warwick - but thinking does it depend on the subject they are looking to study. Not that my DD now wants any of them!

I know someone who got an offer from LSE last Wednesday. Don't give up hope!

marchmash · 05/05/2025 14:00

I'm mainly worried because it's putting them off their studies to get good grades!

Waiting for Edinburgh. What is the last date they can respond by?

SheilaFentiman · 05/05/2025 15:13

15th May for uni responses

Someone had an offer from Warwick on Wiwikau for economics a couple of days ago. Dnephew is waiting for a reply too

My son was only received an offer from Bristol on 1st May (and also on the same day was rejected from Durham and Leeds). Luckily for him he is in a gap year (and Bristol was his first choice) but I feel for the majority of students who are still awaiting decisions so soon before they start their A Levels. Really think universities should be required to send decisions out by the end of March.

Agree - my son has just heard back from Bristol today after waiting excitedly for six month - offered an alternative course (Physics instead of Engineering). To get this outcome less than 2 weeks before his first A-level is incredibly dispiriting for him and my focus will be on supporting him through his exams - he is predicted 4A*s and I don't want this set-back to affect him.

I don't think Bristol (and other universities who take a similar approach) recognise the personal impact of this approach - months of waiting and then to be offered a completely different course - on their applicants during a particularly stressful and difficult time.

I agree: universities need to get on with it!

Still waiting for LSE. Another one who had the form in for the Oxbridge deadline. It’s for a combined honours course - apparently LSE have multiple “rounds” of elimination. It’s quite torturous, waiting.

Have you heard yet? A friend of my DS just got her LSE offer yesterday, very very late. She was all set to firm Edinburgh!

Yes, rejection. Which is absolutely fine - he has 4 other offers - but annoying to wait until the 11th hour. Undergrad life will be a lot cheaper, wherever he now goes 😁
