Hello,
My daughter has a place at the Courtauld ins of Art. She is panicking about how to apply for accommodation so I was wondering if any advice here from other Mums about how to choose the accommodation or do you just get allocated whatever they decide? Many thanks.

If she's doing an undergrad, then she'll want to apply for the King's accom (specifically for 1st year undergrads). They have the link on the website to apply, it's just filling in a form. I don't know if it's first come first served, the deadline is May but she'll want to do it asap. King's College London Halls - The Courtauld

Thank you so much - King's has two - Angel Lane and Canada Water - which would be better do you know? I only know King's Cross area so not sure of other places. Many thanks for taking the time to send me a message.

They've both got direct transport links to the uni and are good locations, but personally based on price I'd be opting for Angel Lane.
You could also apply for the Mannequin House Student Roost accommodation, which is more in line with the Angel Lane accom price wise, as that way if she gets offered a room in the Canada Water property instead she has options as to where to stay. Mannequin House London | Studios & En-Suite | Student Roost. It's a separate company (but is basically the exact same as the Angel Lane property), so she'd need to apply via their website, and then email and ask to be allocated to a flat with only 1st years as they don't do this automatically. It's also located in a good area. That way she has a backup if you don't get Angel Lane.

I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS. That's some place to attend.

....or apply to a London Uni inter-collegiate hall which would be much closer to the Courtauld - My DN was at SOAS and stayed at International Hall just off Russell Square and made friends from loads of different colleges and loved being in the middle of London. There are a few in the Bloomsbury area

Only popping on to say wow, huge congrats to your DD!

Be patient with the kings accomm portal, they release the places in tranches every few days (mine also going to Kings, but the Strand Campus) so if the residences she doesn’t favour don’t appear immediately, wait a few days. You can click on each and book a visit if you are close enough to make a trip in advance.
