Just realised that my OH has signed the guarantor agreement for my DC’s student accommodation (tenancy starts in September) and it is joint and several liability. Are there any good insurance providers, that would cover the rent liable if one of the other sharers left and didn’t pay the rent for the rest of the year? Hopefully this is not likely to happen (although one of my housemates at uni left fairly early on in 3rd year, but fortunately we were not liable for the remaining rent).
I’ve seen Only My Share mentioned, and Guarantor Insure, but the Only My Share website has a big alert on it saying that it might be an impostor, and the Gurantor Insure just looks like a mediator service / legal costs, but also says they are altering the terms of the insurance so it is not available at the moment..
Anyone got any experience of this, and any suggestions for insurance? Thanks :)
