Cost of private accommodation in Edinburgh?

I’m getting ahead of myself a bit as DD is not due to start uni until September, but I’m curious about the cost of accommodation once she’s out of halls (& how much we need to budget for it). She’s due to go to Edinburgh Napier—what kind of rent can we expect to pay after first year?

£600 pm plus in a shared flat plus utilities.

£475 pm + utilities in 2 bed flat in Cowgate/Royal Mile.

Many thanks. That’s broadly in line with the cost of halls as I’m assuming the private accommodation is a full year contract.

Scottish private rentals are not fixed term contracts unless halls . So often 2nd years stay in same accommodation for duration of course starting either in May/June or September.

Yes usually full year from June which suits my DD as there is a lot of work in Edi over summer. However her current flat was a September rental (she was away for a year).

£800 pm plus bills - shared with 2 others. Lovely location but not luxurious. Full year rental from June. I’m sure there’s cheaper out there. I hope so for future years.

Ouch! That’s quite expensive.
