DS has a place on a Physics Taster Day at Sheffield next week. He’ll need to travel up the day before. Any hotel recommendations. Is there a Premier Inn nearby? Thanks!!

It might be worth checking the Hampton by Hilton hotel as it's not too far away. I know there were reasonable rates a few weeks ago and it's nice with good breakfasts, especially the waffles.

Don’t go to the Rutland. It’s the nearest but it’s awful.

The Florentine is a big pub that has beautiful rooms. About 10 mins walk away. It’s in the leafy suburbs. It’s very near some halls of residence, and you’d walk through the suburb of Broomhill which is lively and lovely and very popular with students.

This is another one.

Its further away, but again in a hugely popular student area. And hugely popular area with the citizens of Sheffield!

You could walk, but it’s further away. Nice walk though. You could go past/through the Botanical gardens. Probably a 20 minute walk. 5 mins in an Uber.

Stay | BROCCO ON THE PARK

Sleep well in Sheffield's finest award winning boutique hotel. Weekend stays in Sheffield; city breaks, holidays, working away. Boutique rooms. The Good Hotel Guide recommended.

There's a couple of hotels on the endcliffe student accommodation site
Not that near to the uni departments or train station but would give a feel of the place. Halifax hall is he more expensive one. Jonas is converted modern student halls.

There’s a premier inn a few tram stops away from the university (think walkable too) at angel street. It’s close to the station too

It's not 10 mins walk away from the Physics Faculty, is it? Unless the Faculty isn't where I think it is!
The Florentine is nice, plus it's on a bus route.

I don’t know where the physics faculty is! I was just thinking the distance to the red brick building.

Oh I see. You must walk fast, though! It's a fair walk to even that point from the Florentine.
