Biomedical Science - Bham, Newcastle (or Leeds?)

I asked this question on another thread but posting here for more responses.

My DC has offers for the above unis for Biomedical Science. Preference is Newcastle or Bham, but can't decide. Visited and knows people at both so we're not looking for general info about the uni's/towns. We're trying to compare the modules but its not that easy (for me anyway!) My gut feel is B/ham - a higher ranked uni overall, although they seem similar for Biomed, and there is the issue of strikes at Newcastle.

Anyone on here with Biomed knowledge got any advice? Thanks

Can't comment on Biomed , sorry! But if things are so similar and the decision so tied , I think it does have to come down to all the other factors - lifestyle, location preference, campus vs non, cost of living etc etc.

I know Birmingham does have a good reputation for the sciences.

There's a poster on MN whose daughter did biomed at Newcastle very recently, hopefully she'll be along soon to help.

DD2 did biomed at NTU then a Masters at LSHTM, enjoyed both very much. Does your DD know what she wants to do after university?

The rankings, both overall and subject-specific, aren't far enough apart for that to be a major factor.
