Nottingham accommodation early booking and medical needs

Hi, we'll ring Nottingham tomorrow but just wondered whether anyone has experienced of this?

Nottingham's accommodation opens on a first come, first served basis for firm applicants on 1st April.

If a student has medical issues and needs a certain type of room, but doesn't want to book on 1st April as they haven't yet received all of their offers, or they put Nottingham as insurance, then how does that work? Can they still give them the specific type of room they need or do they say sorry, should have booked earlier?

Thanks

If anyone searches and finds this later, we went to the Open Day and specifically asked, and yes, if they can, they absolutely will. Most of the time, even through clearing, they can sort something.

I can only speak for our own experience which was that dd applied for self catered accommodation the day after results day and was allocated accommodation that met her needs (which had been signed off by a medical professional). It took a little while to come through (a week maybe) but they do guarantee university managed accommodation to any first year applying within a week or so of results day.

Sorry that you didn’t get any responses at the time @JaneJanie

Is she still thinking of going to Nottingham?

@BunnyRuddington from your user name I’m guessing you might be local?!

She’s considering it, we’re gathering information still. It’s complicated!
