Hello,

As the title reads ...

If anyone has a link for a prospectus for KCL - English (BA) I would be very, very grateful.

Have filled out the form several times and even been on the Live Chat but sadly cannot seem to get hold of one at all!

Thank you MN!

You should be able to find everything you need to know on the website I think? I’m not sure the prospectus gives any more details but I may be wrong.

Thank You @crazycrofter ... well you are asked to fill out a form and then they will send you a Prospectus to download.

I have filled it in so many times but never receive a thing ... will keep trying ...

I would phone / email the admissions dept and ask if they can try again, but first check your spam folder it might have blocked a PdF file.

Thanks @OnceAndFutureMum ... yep I think it might have blocked it ... will call tomorrow.

Cheers,
Morgana

What I meant was - what info do you need to find out (about the course/accommodation etc)? If you look at the course page on the website it should all be there will be details about halls - so I’m not sure why you need a prospectus? I don’t really know why unis still produce them to be honest.

Well I wanted to know more about what is actually going to be studied as part of the degree.

They do provide a Prospectus that you can download but you have to request it ... maybe all the info is on the w/site but I was hoping that there would be more detail about what will be studied over 3 years.

Thanks MN!

Gosh. We haven't had prospectuses for years. We're absolutely not allowed to print anything, and we don't have separate documents for individual programmes, even electronic ones.

I'd be surprised if they have a document that contains more detail than what is shown on the "Teaching & structure" tab at https://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/english-ba.

KCL

English

This English BA offers an unrivalled breadth and depth of literature study with more than 50 optional modules that span the medieval period to the present.

I was hoping that there would be more detail about what will be studied over 3 years.

That might depend on who is working there in 2-3 years' time.

Because of Competition & Marketing Authority (CMA) rules, universities are very reluctant to provide details of things they are going to deliver in the future because of the possibility that the course content, methods of deliverey, assessments, etc., might have to change.

Suppose everyone with expertise in a particular area (which might only be one or two people) decides to take voluntary redundancy or emigrate. The content of parts of the programme might have to change to accommodate the lack of expertise in that particular area. This will particularly affect modules in the later years.

Again thank you @HEMole.

I did get a reply from KCL and they have asked for my full name, DOB, address and areas of study that I am interested in ... they do actually have a Prospectus that they will email out apparently ...

I will report back!

Appreciate everyone responding.
