Vague anxiety and worry.

my DD has just left to go to uni last week. She appears to be doing well and has settled in well. I am just left with this odd anxiety and feelings of unease.

she has struggled a bit with friendships and I just want her to have an amazing time and this to be the making of her.

I don’t know what I’m trying to say but is anyone else feeling this way? I just don’t think I will ever stop worrying about her and I don’t appear to struggle or worry about anything else in life.

It's normal and hopefully you will soon adjust and feel less anxious. It's great that she seems to be settling in well - great start!

I know you want her to have an amazing time - but do remember it's an exciting time, but will inevitably have ups and downs over the years, so do manage expectations.

It's hard when they go and worrying is normal. You'll find a routine in time and hopefully you'll feel more at ease. My DD (4th year now) set up a group chat on WhatsApp so she can share photos and updates with us and wider family. It works well!

I feel like this too. I have anxiety anyway, especially around my children but this is a new thing. She seems happy enough, seems to be settling in well but I just feel uneasy all the time, wondering how she is doing, worrying if she hasn't messaged in a while etc. like you I just want her to have the best time and make some food friends. I'm hoping as time goes on I'll be better.
