Anyone else having issues with SFE login? My son has created an account and received a reference, however, when trying to login over the past week the website constantly comes up with "Sorry, there is an issue with our service. Try again later."

Anyone else had this problem?

Yes. Tried all day yesterday, and this morning with no luck. Managed to get logged in but the details for this year don't appear to exist, and when trying to find through the CRN and date of birth for applicant there's no application found. Hopefully they are aware of issues but will be trying to contact them later

Thanks @RAC49 I've tried again this morning but to no avail. I mentioned it to a friend last night and she has been trying for 2 weeks!

I follow the SFE Facebook page and there have been a few glitches recently and a couple of times the servers are down for maintenance.

The main glitch this year seems to have been parents' accounts not being emailed for the income details resulting in lots of people having to fill the PPF2 form in rather than just inserting the details on the website, don't know if they've resolved that now.

They have people on the FB page answering questions and are generally very helpful if you can't get through.

2 weeks!!! Guess it's going to take some time then if they've not sorted out by now 😬

I got the email but doesn't link to the application. Managed to log in and only previous years applications showing, not this years, and can't even use the applicant details to find it.

Oh blimey.
I'd ask on the FB page. They're really helpful.

There do seem to be loads of issues this year. They are very helpful if you contact them on social media. You can also phone, but I imagine the wait times will be lengthy...

Just got through and spoke to SFE. Appears this is an issue with this year that hasn't happened before. It seems to occur when the student has applied but not put the parents name exactly as the parent has, eg not entered the middle name of the parent when it is included on the parents account. Solution is the PFF2 form that can be found by googling Student Finance Forms and selecting the Gov site. This can then be completed and downloaded then attached to either the students name on the parents account, or sent to the student to attach to their SFE account. Hope this helps. Just about to try here

That bloody PPF2 form issue. Every other question on WIWIKAU was "my details don't match" for weeks.

It's exactly as @RAC49 described, I watched my DD apply for 24/25 funding and the online form asks for the parents 'First name' instead of 'Forename(s)' so my DD put one name. Therefore, we received the email but it doesn't link to her 24/25 application as she didn't put our middle names down.

midlifeattheoasis · 16/04/2024 20:02

@RAC49 Thank you, but we haven't even got that far! My son has only got as far as setting up an account and being issued with a customer reference number. When he tried to login to start the process of applying it just says: Sorry, there is an issue with our service. Try again later
I called SFE yesterday and today and they said they're aware of a problem but do not have any idea when it will be rectified. They've emailed me the form but its 51 pages to print off and post back!

My page for my daughters doesn't either, I thought I was going mad! Just shows 2023.

Received the email to load parent finance details, but then application can't be found or try again later! Why do they set deadlines then unable to cope with demand of the system at this time. What happens if this continues?

RAC49 · 17/05/2024 10:25

I went trough the PFF2 form, as they said to do, that is found on your account to support student (on the righthand side somewhere) and followed the instructions. Was easy to do and already had confirmation of the loan. Was surprised how quick it went through doing it this way.
